加拿大学校的春假多长?
一般1-2个星期,但也会根据实际情况调整 比如今年疫情比较严重,很多学校的春假时间都缩短了或者取消了(当然也有很多学校照常放)
关于春假的来历是这样的:
The term spring break is often incorrectly used to describe the entire period from March Break (the last week in February) throughout the duration of the spring vacation, which may include Easter Monday and the Victoria Day long weekend.[1] In Ontario these three periods are usually referred to as Spring Break, March Vacation or Easter Break,[2][3] although they were sometimes traditionally called “March Break” until recently when it became more common to call them by their actual dates instead:[4]) Many Canadian schools have moved away from the name "March Break" because it was perceived that children did not take advantage of this time off school but spent these days playing video games rather than enjoying outdoor recreation activities with family members. As a result, many schools began changing the tradition name to something less offensive like 'Spring Break', though some still refer to the period using the original term, “March Break”, specifically referring only to the first week in March; however, even those schools will use other names during later weeks for clarity. The same trend has been seen across North America, where cities formerly known as “Easter Weekend City,” such as Orlando, Florida, now advertise themselves simply as “Spring Break City.” Some U.S. state governments have also taken action to discourage students from travelling over holidays: Colorado passed legislation banning student absences from class on Easter Sunday[6] while Arizona banned all spring breaks from its public high schools starting in the year 2000 after finding that nearly half of freshmen at one high school had missed classes during previous spring breaks; this law remains effective today,[7] despite the fact that most private secondary institutions are not subject to government laws about school vacations. These regulations came into being due to concerns regarding overcrowding of tourist destinations around major religious events
